The Independent Film: The Key To The Industry By Helene Goldnadel of International Creative Artists.Helene Goldnadel the owner of International Creative Artists the post-secondary acting school licensed in the State of California speaks about how to create the key which ultimately opens doors to the film/TV industry.Helene Goldnadel who was a SAG and AFTRA franchised agent in New York and has been a producer and the owner of the International Creative Artists Institution after switching from representation to development, speaks about ICA, the industry, her beloved graduates, and how to turn a small independent film into a career. The Film TV Industry is this huge beast to conquer. The only way to tame the beast is if you have family or friends that are friends of the beast's! Indeed in this business of referrals if you do not know someone you do not get in. Everybody in Southern California dreams of Acting for television, acting in television commercials, acting for film, acting for soap operas, acting for sitcoms, episodic dramas etc... All of the above pertains to very specific on camera acting skills. You can rest assured that acting in television commercials or day time TV is not an easy task. A soap opera star job is not any easier to obtain, than a part on a television commercial. As far as our Institution, International Creative Artists mission goes; acting jobs for different age ranges, including acting jobs for kids are obtained by the top talent agents in Los Angeles who come in weekly to audition our graduates, as per our placement program... Indeed, all those top agencies, franchised by SAG, (the Screen Actors Guild) and AFTRA, (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), all have children departments. Such Hollywood talent agents however sign up mostly talent referred to them by some one they know, a manager, or in the case of International Creative Artists, they trust my judgment and our programs. They know our acting lessons work! Always, do Hollywood agents favor our licensed Institution over other acting schools for their recruitment purposes. A lot of acting schools in Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, San Diego, may offer potential students acting and also modeling classes, without having any licensing with the bureau for post-secondary schools. International Creative Artists owner, Helene Goldnadel, takes pride in the fact that our institution holds a license with the bureau for post-secondary vocational institutions in the State of California. So let's say you are a young talented actor for film, commercials, soap operas, you have a great talent agent which you obtained through our placement program, and you are now going out on top auditions in Los Angeles. What else can you do to increase your chances towards booking work in the industry? Well, you can create the work! Technology has changed a lot of things as per how movies are made. For example, a couple of Sony cameras PD 150, some lights and a sound board, can make the difference between you have your own independent film or you don't! I would strongly recommend that you would learn how to format a screen-play, says Helene Goldnadel, and then learn how to write a story that makes sense before you start scouting for location! Screenwriting is a whole subject in itself. The Writer's Guild of America will not welcome you as a member that easily! You would want to write about characters that sound true whether you are writing for your child actor, or yourself, first thing would be to get your child some training at our child actor school, which by the way is also a post-secondary Institution licensed in CA. You can't write a whole story centered on baby modeling because you have a five month old if the story does not make any sense! But if you have a great movie, a short film, an independent film, it can help you get a name in the industry, or your child actor. It is very important in this industry to understand the necessity of training, acting lessons, screenwriting lessons. At International Creative Artists, we know very well that child star models can be created at the same time as powerful, focused, committed, well-spoken and expressive little individuals are being empowered! Although we are a post-secondary vocational school, we very much welcome talent of all ages including children. We actually are not a "child actor school" focusing on little talent only. We proudly train children, pre-teens, teen-agers, young adults and adults alike. We there fore have a successful placement program. However, in this Industry the more versatile and accomplished you are, the better up you are! Film making and directing also demand skills. Helene Goldnadel finishes her chat by wishing the best year to all the potential students and students present: Congratulations to all our graduates and especially film maker/director Magdalena Zielinska for her continuous success. In conclusion, have fun, work hard, and believe in your vision.
